On December 20, 2016, the third Council of the eighth session of the China Watch Association was held in Hangzhou Wanghu Hotel. Tao Xiaonian, Vice president of the China Light Industry Federation and chairman of the China Watch Association, Zhang Hongguang, Ding Yanxing, Secretary General Li Xia and representatives of governing units and member units from all over the country attended the meeting. Chairman Tao Xiaonian presided over the meeting. Fujian Shanggrun participated in the meeting as an executive deputy director unit.

       At the meeting, Chairman Tao first thanked everyone for the great attention and concern to the industry and the work of the association, and clarified that the main purpose of the council is to gather the wisdom of industry entrepreneurs, conduct extensive discussions and exchanges under the situation of economic downward pressure in the watch industry, and jointly seek the path of industry development, brainstorm and form a consensus.

      The meeting reviewed and approved the "2016 Work Summary and 2017 key work Plan" made by Vice Chairman Zhang Hongguang; Reviewed and adopted the "2016 Financial Report of the Secretariat" made by Vice Chairman Ding Yanxing; Deliberated and adopted the "Proposals on Additional directors and Standing Directors" submitted by Secretary-General Li Xia, "Proposals on the rating evaluation of watch maintenance institutions" and "Proposals on adjusting the rating years of Chinese watch Masters", and reported to the General Assembly the development of members and the cancellation of some members in 2016.

      During the meeting, a warm group discussion was held, and the participants fully affirmed the work and achievements of the association in the past year, expounded their views from different angles, and put forward positive and constructive opinions on the future work.

The "2016 Work Summary and 2017 Key Work Plan" summarizes the key work carried out by the secretariat of the Association in 2016 from eight aspects:
First, formulate the 13th Five-Year development plan for the watch industry to guide industrial transformation and upgrading
Second, promote industrial technological progress and scientific and technological innovation
Third, carry out the implementation of three products, accelerate brand cultivation, improve product quality
Fourth, promote the development of e-commerce and website construction

     Chairman Tao Xiaonian pointed out in his summary: The sustainable development in the past few decades, to a certain extent, from our direction, technology to follow, copy the model of advanced countries, and give full play to their own system, cost, resources and other advantages, the performance is remarkable, but its limitations are increasingly obvious. China's watch industry must adhere to the integration of innovation in learning, inheritance of classics, continuous improvement, and the formation of a development model with its own unique advantages, only then will it have a bright future. In order to produce excellent and competitive products that meet consumer demand, watch enterprises need to continue to innovate and optimize in all dimensions of corporate culture, market form, customer consumption behavior, product aesthetics, structure and function, material handling, quality management, organization and operation, talent team, brand building, business model and many other links, but also to apply the Internet and master big data. Provide continuous improvement of enterprise management guarantee mechanism.

      The council also invited Liu Ning, chairman of the China Industrial Design Association, to make a special lecture on "Industrial design and innovative growth", and Chongqing Watch Co., Ltd. made a "learn from advanced technology to create a boutique machine heart" to improve product quality exchange; Dr. Fu Yu of Seagull Watch Group made a special exchange on "Research Direction of International watch Frontier Technology".
      The meeting also organized directors and representatives to visit Alibaba.
