The 17th National Congress of the Chinese trade union was held in Beijing from October 22 to 26. Silin Yudeng attended the Congress as a representative of Fujian province.

       The main tasks of this congress are: fully implement the spirit of the 19th party congress, hold high the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and take the thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics for the guidance of a new era; Unswervingly follow the development path of the socialist trade union with Chinese Characteristics, and comprehensively summarize the achievements and experiences of the trade union work since the 16th National Congress of the People's Republic of China, in-depth analysis of the historical mission of trade union organizations in securing a decisive victory in the building of all-round Xiaokang and launching a new journey to fully build a modern socialist country, and proposing the guiding ideology and objectives and tasks of trade union work in the new era, amend the Constitution of the Chinese trade union and elect a new leadership body for the All-China Federation of Trade Unions. When the party and state leaders came to congratulate him, Wang Huning delivered a speech on behalf of the party.

      The atmosphere in the auditorium of the Great Hall of the people was solemn and warm. Comrade Lin Yudeng said that he had benefited a lot from attending the meeting, especially in his report on the economic situation, which emphasized that China has the largest human resources in the world, this is a huge potential for development and advantages.
