“NB-IoT技术让我们看到了希望,可以让智能手环智能手表等产品能够和手机一样独立使用,不依赖于手机,还有可能能持续使用30天以上的时间;而且除了穿戴在人身上的,定位和跟踪等更多应用场景的需求也是非常明确的。”俞文杰说道。

NB-IoT用于设备需要产生价值,才能被大家所接受,到底哪些设备能产生价值?俞文杰认为,和人打交道的消费电子产品和医疗产品、宠物、物体跟踪等等,可以加入情感因素在的这些应用是可以让用户投入消费、增加APU值的。这些产品的更新换代更好,进一步催进了NB-IoT的产品销量,最终让NB-IoT的成本快速降低,使得NB-IoT产品的开发更加容易。

 

NB-IoT助力传统企业物联化升级

 

在物联网的冲击下,传统企业迫切需要一种合适的手段实现产业转型升级。而广域物联技术对于传统企业的意义就体现在可实现各种设备的互联互通且由此催生各种丰富应用、提高企业效率和减低成本,助力转型升级。

 

桑德集团有限公司是中国著名的大型专业性环保、新能源企业。业务覆盖水务、固废处理、环卫、再生资源、新能源、生态农业等领域。该企业正以开放、物联、大数据、跨界为战略积极转型,不过在物联化的过程中遇到不少阻力。

 

桑德集团互联网创新中心技术总监詹杰表示,这种阻力来自几个方面,一是信号弱,桑德很多业务都在偏远地区,工况不好;也有很多器件布在地下,这些地方的信号相对都比较弱;

二是功耗大,例如其水务业务中的水表等仪器一般使用GPRS通信模块,因功耗较大,所以电池经常需要更滑;

三是定位问题,传统定位方式采用GPS,但是GPS容易受到建筑物体屏蔽,在很多工况基本是没有GPS信号的情况下通过基站来定位,但是基站定位相对没那么准确;

四是成本高,例如GPRS模块和天线成本都是20块,物联化连接的设备数量非常多,如果要实联100万台设备互联,可想而知成本是非常高的。

面对这些挑战,詹杰简洁明了地提出对NB-IoT的期望:“NB-IoT是一个很好的广域物联技术,希望NB-IoT可以信号强些、功耗小些、定位准些、成本低些,助力实现真正万物互联。” 

 

特殊行业应用期待NB-IoT带来关键性突破

 

如果说桑德等传统企业对NB-IoT寄予厚望,特殊应用行业也不例外。如应急管理中的现场监测往往需要使用各种传感器和包括卫星、雷达、GPSR通信技术实现监测与预警。新兴际华应急装备技术有限公司是副总经理姚翔表示,现场监测除了需要突破传感器技术以外,在通信技术上也需要进行突破。

 

应急管理中的现场监测对通信提出许多要求:系统稳定、传输可靠、监测设备上集成自组网模块,可以不依赖外部网络;在保证通信质量的前提下,支持的通信范围越大越好;可用干电池供电,好点了尽可能小;环境适应性好;便于维护,最好免维护。具有广覆盖、低功耗、低延迟性、稳定可靠的NB-IoT等新兴窄带物联技术可能会成为推动现场监测发展的关键性技术。

 

以用于实现湖泊、水库、河流等大面积水质监测的浮漂式水体监测系统为例,它以浮标为载体,集成适用于长期运行的免试剂水质监测传感器以测定水质参数指标,获取水质参数数据,并通过GPRS实现数据传输和远程控制。该系统有助于及时掌握地表水水体的水质状况,实现水质的连续监测预警。“其中的GPSR通信模块体积、功耗较大,使用NB-IoT则有望大大降低传输功耗和通信模块体积,实现整个目标检测系统的小型化、低功耗化,实现更广泛的分布式监测。” 姚翔说道。

当然NB-IoT还可应用于非常多的行业,包括智能交通如智能停车、智能路灯、智能汽车、水电煤热气和工业等智能抄表、监测报警系统、智能物流、农业和环境等等领域。万物互联是人类期待已久的改变,NB-IoT等低功耗大连接大覆盖物联技术的出现,或将会引起整个物联产业的转折和加速。

NB-IoT helps traditional enterprises upgrade through iot

The traditional positioning method uses GPS, but GPS is easily shielded by building objects. In many working conditions, there is basically no GPS signal through the base station to locate, but the base station positioning is relatively not so accurate;

Fourth, the cost is high, for example, the cost of GPRS module and antenna is 20, the number of connected devices is very large, if you want to connect 1 million devices, it can be imagined that the cost is very high.

In the face of these challenges, Zhan Jie succinctly put forward his expectations for NB-IoT: "NB-IoT is a good wide-area Internet of things technology, and I hope that NB-IoT can have stronger signals, less power consumption, more accurate positioning, and lower costs to help realize the true Internet of everything."

 

Special industry applications expect NB-IoT to bring key breakthroughs

 

If traditional enterprises such as Sander have high hopes for NB-IoT, the special application industry is no exception. For example, on-site monitoring in emergency management often requires the use of various sensors and communication technologies including satellites, radar and GPSR to achieve monitoring and early warning. Yao Xiang, deputy general manager of emerging Jihua Emergency Equipment Technology Co., LTD., said that in addition to the need for breakthrough sensor technology, on-site monitoring also needs to make breakthroughs in communication technology.

 

On-site monitoring in emergency management puts forward many requirements for communication: the system is stable, the transmission is reliable, and the monitoring equipment is integrated with AD hoc network module, which can not rely on external network; On the premise of ensuring the quality of communication, the larger the range of communication supported, the better. Available dry battery power supply, good point as small as possible; Good environmental adaptability; Easy maintenance, preferably maintenance-free. Emerging narrowband iot technologies such as NB-IoT with wide coverage, low power consumption, low latency, and stability may become key technologies to promote the development of field monitoring.

 

Taking the floating water monitoring system used to realize the water quality monitoring of large areas such as lakes, reservoirs and rivers as an example, it takes the buoy as the carrier, integrates the reagent free water quality monitoring sensor suitable for long-term operation to determine the water quality parameter indicators, obtain the water quality parameter data, and realizes the data transmission and remote control through GPRS. The system is helpful to grasp the water quality of surface water in time and realize continuous monitoring and early warning of water quality. "Among them, the GPSR communication module volume and power consumption is large, the use of NB-IoT is expected to greatly reduce the transmission power consumption and communication module volume, to achieve the miniaturization of the entire target detection system, low power consumption, to achieve a wider range of distributed monitoring." Yao Xiang said.

Of course, NB-IoT can also be applied to many industries, including intelligent transportation such as intelligent parking, intelligent street lights, intelligent cars, hydropower, coal, hot gas and industrial intelligent meter reading, monitoring and alarm systems, intelligent logistics, agriculture and the environment and so on.
